The Thomas Jefferson in downtown Birmingham from a 1940s postcard. Coach Bryant used to stay in a suite there when for the Iron Bowl. It was saved after sitting vacant for decades.

Interesting article (to me) about the dirigible mast: https://www.airships.net/blog/alabama-pretends-dirigible-tower-hotel-didnt/

This is Valentina Tereshkova. Ever heard of her?

She was the first woman in space.

If she were an American, and especially if she were black, we would be inundated with references to her everyday. By since she's Russian not even the feminists give a shite.

They're still around and have changed with the times.

Lots of choices and probably got the orders right.

Bugatti 57 SC Atlantic 1936. Of this model only 4 units were manufactured and only the whereabouts of three of them are known, the first was assembled in 1936 for the British banker Lord Victor Rothschild, the richest man in the world at the time.
