Not a boomer, but hell, I never had a car with a sixth gear in a manual transmission. That’s probably on a car that’s a shitload of fun to drive!

Seems more logical. The ford ranger I learned on was:
R 1 3 5
_ 2 4
The one in the picture just seems strange. Is it a tractor or something?

Have you tried an old school with the shifter on the steering column yet? Drove an old truck about thirty years ago that was strong column shift, was fun and interesting.
