Oh man that was tough but nailed it today.

Started with squat. My prior PR was 285. Goal today was pretty much 315, and that's what I hit. It felt okay, but I buckled a bit halfway up. Pushed through and didn't feel like I strained myself, but decided to call it quits there so I could keep going for 1k club.

Next was deadlifts, that felt pretty great. 1k club target was 385 and I pulled that with no problem. I really wanted 4 plates today (and I'm pretty confident I could have hit it) but again, I didn't want to strain myself. Bench press is easy to hit so last thing I needed was a pulled lat or something ending the day.

Finished with bench. 315 target for 1015 total; no problem at all. Pretty sure I could have grabbed 3 or 4 reps. At this point I ran out of time, but I really wanted to go for a new PR and got greedy. Prior best was 325 and I jumped it up to 350 cause....tree-fiddy. duh. I failed tho! Spotter grabbed a bit earlier than I would have liked, but I'm doubtful I could have fought through it. Was very close, though. I think I could hit it on a bench only max day.

So, no new PR on deads or bench, but squat PR went up 30 lbs. So pumped that my legs are catching up - I used my old brace today that I was using post surgery and when I initially tried to put it on it was legit 2 inches from closing. Big growth!

In the 1k club now at 175 lbs. Finally! Fun month.

So for those that are looking for a program to run in November and want something really hard before going into deadcember, in 2017 AA posted for the whole month of November calling It Brovember. I went back and pulled the screenshots and made a pdf. Hopefully he doesn't get upset on this one since it's on his social

LINK

Still want to encourage everyone to atleast go buy one of his programs if at possible and show the man some love. I picked up his newest one called welcome to Strongsville just to support him.

Weigh 175, finished with a 330 squat and just missed on 335. 330 moved well so I actually hopped to 340 and missed and went back to 335 and just just missed. Had I not tried for 340 I may have hit.

Either way, that’s a 10lb increase over last year so that’s progress. I’ll take it after not lifting in July for a cross country move.

I’ll try to add 10 more lbs next year. Another successful Squatober.

I'm probably just gonna do some basic strength stuff and mix in some cardio when I can for November. Just found out my kids daycare is closed for 2 weeks because of Covid, so I am home with a 3 year old and 18 month old for the next 2 weeks. Going to Disney World for Thanksgiving so that is another missed week, though I will get plenty of steps in.

I won’t find out until Friday about my PR… I’m really hopeful I can get 500 but we’ll see.

I was going to buy one of his bench programs to run before Deadcember but I would only have 3 weeks to run it now that I pushed Squatober back a week.

Didn't hit a PR, but definitely left feeling like my legs are stronger. Did hit higher than my training max though. Just going to up my training max and keep chugging.

Hit 295 at 175 lb body weight. My training max was 275.

Started Mass that Lasts yesterday.

I went ahead and purchased Strongville yesterday. I'm planning on running this program 4 days per week as written and adding in some conditioning from the Power Athlete Grindstone program on off days.

It has a squat + bench day, deadlift day, squat + bench day, deadlift day each week. It does have farmer's carries and overhead carries programed also. The other stuff is exactly what you would expect with pull-ups, rows, delt work, etc.

Thanks for the heads up about this new program - I like supporting people that put out great free content.

yea i grabbed it last friday.

i know AA hates me for the original thread here, but I still think he is a great guy and i took down the thread as he asked and will not be sharing his material. I will continue to buy his programs as they come out cause he puts out a ton of great stuff for free and overall just seems like a great guy.

Yea once there’s 3 new programs, I’ll buy them.
Ran Elbow Meat last month. It was really good. Wish I would have taken measurements before.
Running Filling out the Hoodie again this month.
I’m thinking of doing Squatober in January pending that I’ve shot enough deer.

My Squatober officially ended today. My goal was to hit 500 and that’s exactly what I did. This is a 15 pound PR for me and well over 75 lbs more than anything I’ve done in the last 2 years.

Thanks to everyone who made me aware of this program and keeping me motivated. My only regret now is that I didn’t make an attempt at 515… in the moment I was just thrilled to have hit my long term goal.
