He just signed a team friendly contract so they'd have more money for others.

A running back that can’t handle a full time load wants 16 million? He’s a nice player but I really would hate to give 10 a year. That’s my absolute ceiling.

Yiu can get good ones in the 2nd, 3rd round all day long....

But Kamara's number is pushing more toward the #Panthers' Christian McCaffrey extension ($16+ mil per).

I’d rather give Fournette the $4.1m he’s owed than Kamara $16m. Not a big NFL LF fan, but I’m also not a moron.

I was. Drew's last year. You don't hold out two weeks to go and expect a reach around in return.

Miami or LA. I called this shite as soon as he signed with Klutch.

Never mind all of that. What would Laborde and Earles do with their commericals without Kamara's wisdom?

Mixon just got 4/48 from the Bengals

Kamara is at least that good if not a lot better.

So the he’s not worth 12 mil talk is silly. When healthy he is a top five RB and top ten weapon in the NFL. Next year the Saints will have a bargain at QB and can afford Kamara and Thomas on big contracts.

Miami makes so much sense.

Rookie qb with meh weapons having kamara gives them a marketable star

The Bengals didn't just pay a premium for a WR and have a rookie QB.

Sure, it's silly to think he's not worth 12. The problem is his camp is silly for thinking he's worth 16.

Looks like they gave him a fair deal and he wants CMC money. Get what you can for him. We have other core players to sign.

Fournette wasn't claimed so he's a Free Agent now.

We still have 36 mil of dead cap from brees next year and Winston I’m sure will want a long term contract if we decide to go in that direction. It’s absolutely absurd to pay kamara 16mil a year and not be able to afford re signing a handful of other core players at more valuable positions.

What you trying to get for him? A bad team isn’t giving up a first for him. With that being said I would still be happy with a early 2nd

He's actually one who takes under market value routinely. He said he'll do whatever it takes to get his money, but he's not going to ask for the world to stay with the Saints as a lifer.

2019 - signed a 3/52.5mil extension

Even if Brees retires, he’s on the books for 36 million next year.

Kamara and Mixon couldn’t be in more polar opposite of situations to this point in their careers. It’s pretty damn close just based on talent.

You also have to pay

Marshon Lattimore
Marcus Williams
Ryan Ramczyk

AK is a damn good player, but I'm not signing him to lose one of those 3. especially not Ramczyk who's a top 3 RT and gonna be paid like it.

This was always going to happen to somebody from that 2017 draft class once we all knew Michael Thomas was a star WR. There was never going to be enough money for Lattimore, Ramcyck and Kamara. This team can't lose a shut down CB or a pillar on the OLine. They can lose a RB.
