He paved the way to leave because you want to get paid. First player to opt out under that specific reason, and while I appreciate him being honest about it (all the rest of the opt outs are hiding behind COVID), that door won’t be shut easily.

Has it been confirmed yet? Everywhere I’ve seen is people “expecting”

I get that part, I just find it funny when people act sanctimonious about player loyalty in this sense when there is no such actual thing as loyalty in college football at any level. The coaches can leave at any time without penalty. They can cut players at any time. They can cut them without reason and they can even cut them and then tell them they can’t go to any other schools that might play against us in the future.

but the second the players even get a small taste similar levels of freedom of movement or starting making choices that go against the teams, then all of a sudden it’s all about following through on your commitments and all that jazz

I’ll listen later. Looking forward to hearing what could conceivably make that quote anything but a lie.

I don't remember anyone happy when a player is "Processed". Most fans understand competition, unless they work for the government.
I've seen many players choose to leave and get "Best wishes".
I've got congratulations for Chase, if he gets to fulfill his dreams.

Well 1 there hasn’t been an “official” reason. It hasn’t been officially announced

2 there has definitely been guys already declare it’s for the draft. I believe Bateman from Minnesota (another high end WR prospect) did that 1 month ago.

It’s a slippery slope fallacy.

I understand the decision, but absolutely frick him and his camp for how they handled it from the get go.

Pathetic.

I also don’t see those people clamoring for commitment from the coaches. Which is how a “two way street” of commitment would work.

And yes I’ve definitely seen people happy when players get processed. This board shits on underperforming players all the time that get shown the door

If it was untrue he or LSU would've refuted the story in the last 5 hours.

Actually I have posted on the other side of this. I do think it is equally rotten to take a scholarship away from a kid if he has done everything he was supposed to do. As a fan I can't influence that anymore than I can influence Chase from leaving. A lot of this goes on the coaches and what they promise a kid when he is recruited.

The only thing that bothers me is his jersey number. Taking that number and then quitting is rough. Great player, great tiger regardless.

Shouldn't be allowed on the sidelines. He quit the team. Can't have it both ways.

I doubt anyone who isn’t on a very tight list of staff and players will be on the sidelines due to COVID so you can rest easy

He seems like a good kid and his stock can only go down with Joe gone. Good luck but may slip to round 2 when Devonte Smith has another epic season en route to natty

Shame on Chase if he said that. These schools get played yearly by these kids. Thought kid had to play three years until senior year. Guessing , I misunderstand that rule. Kid don’t owe any of us anything but these schools give them scollys that are worth a lot of money. Kind of disrespectful to school and coaches . My opinion,

How much does he re-reimburse LSU, coaches, and fellow players (especially the one who was throwing to him) for giving him a top-tier national stage to showcase his skills and increase his pro stock?

What kind of pay raises did O and his assistants get off last year?

They'll still be there this year and next.

No one turns on you quicker than a Louisiana sports fan.

Go get paid, Ja'Marr. You were an absolute legend and I enjoyed every snap you played at LSU.
