In what universe is Tiger Stadium more iconic than Legion Field? Football capital of the south, helped host the 1996 Olympics, 8 pro teams, 30 bowl games, first home of the SECCG, 2nd home of both Alabama and Auburn for 50+ years, hosted the Magic City Classic since 1946, etc.

Madison Square Garden

Any building that can't PROPERLY host a modern football/baseball game is automatically disqualified. MSG is an all-timer in terms of EVENTS and ENTERTAINMENT, but focusing solely on sports? No way. Knicks games that haven't been important since the 90s (and really, the 70s), Rangers games that haven't been important since the 90s, and a now-defunct Big East tourney aren't enough to elevate MSG on sports alone. It doesn't even remotely compare to - the LA Coliseum - for example.

A lot of the people posting in this thread did not read/understand the OP's criteria. Then again, reading comprehension is not TD's strong suit.

How many stadiums can claim to have hosted such a wide array of sports, not to mention the most premier events of said sports?

LA Coliseum > Superdome (though that's not a slight against the latter)

Yeah, I mentioned the LA Coliseum in my later post, and that's probably the actual answer. Superdome can't compete with the Coliseum having hosted the Olympics AND a World Cup. What's the LA Coliseum's history in regards to baseball/MLB?

Meh, that's not that big of a deal to me, but it did house an MLB team at one point AND host a World Series, so yeah, I think the Coliseum is absolutely the answer.

Plus the Coliseum is slated to host track and field AGAIN for the 2028 Olympics - first stadium to ever host Olympics 3 different times.

Okay yeah, it's settled. LA Coliseum is the answer.

This topic probably would've been better off noting the "Mt. Rushmore" of stadiums.

I've got news for you, but The Old Gray Lady - Legion Field - is magnitudes more iconic than LSU's stadium

You were making some decent points until lampooned your statement with this gem.

LSU fan too self absorbed to realize there’s a world outside Louisiana, Alabama fan unable to escape the lure of their own history, tale as old as time

You’re right, I stand corrected. Will the Coliseum be hosting any of the 2026 North American World Cup, I wonder?
