Walton announcing an LSU game would go something like this ....
Oh Baton Rouge, you bring the utmost gratification to my foolish heart. We go back many circles around the sun; my earliest recollection happened when Timothy Leary turned me on to his mind-blowing batch of LSD 25. I was tripping with Jerry and the boys late one night when Janice started singing “Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin' for a train; And I's feelin' near as faded as my jeans”. Wow, the pride of Port Arthur could belt out some raspy blues. Hey Pasch, I wonder what color Pearl’s hair would be today ... you think more burgundy or paprika ?
Did I ever tell you about that time I met Johnny Cash ? Back in ‘68, I was visiting an old roadie friend who was serving 15 yrs at Folsom State Prison. Just so happened Mr. Cash was recording a live album at the same time I was visiting my buddy. When Johnny asked the inmates what song they wanted to hear, my friend says “Big River” because he grew up in Baton Rouge. Johnny then sang those famous lyrics ... “ Well I've gotten on down to Baton Rouge , river queen roll on, Take that woman down to New Orleans, New Orleans “
I love me some LSU basketball. Remember my son Adam, and what about Keith Hornsby ? Both were Tigers who donned the purple & gold. Did you know Keith’s dad Bruce played keyboards for the Grateful Dead ?

Bill Walton called the LSU@San Francisco NIT game several years back and he was very positive towards LSU and complementary of LSU’s history.

To judge the man fairly you have to youtube the 1973 NCAA Championship. Walton puts on an instructional video of how to play the center position.
...21-22 for 44 pts.

Got blaze, that was funny as shite.
What I cannot stand about Walton is that he picks a favorite player and a favorite team and is the absolutely most biased play by play I have ever seen. It makes me angry to listen to him.
Both teams could make an identical play back to back.
Favored team --> did you see the way he elevated to the rim? His athletic prowess is keenly overmatching his opponents.
Unfavored team --> how many times can an offensive player foul the opposing team on his way to the basket? He is wreckless and should be ejected.
It is the worst
