80s Kids- Where did you have your birthday parties growing up?

Is it just me or did we have way more parties at places like McDonalds and Mr Gattis growing up?

I remember growing up in Lake Charles and about every other week i was invited to a party at one of those or Burger King or Pizza Hut. Any place that served fast food and had an arcade.

I feel like nowadays all i take my kids to is a bounce house or one of those upscale bowling alley/arcade type place.


Going to the Gattis in Lake Charles for a party was like Disneyland for me. I also remember going to a McDonalds party and every kid got one of these. It was like Christmas morning

I definitely had and been to multiple parties at McDonald’s. Sho biz and chuckie cheese as well.

I was a kid of the 70's, ours were mostly at McDonalds.

I remember having the Hamburgler glass until the news reports came out about lead paint being used. Here is a link to an article about it:

I had several on street cars which was a great time. Then I also had a few at Fun Time USA in Biloxi.
