RJ Barrett: “This is the place I want to be.” Barrett says the Knicks are the only team he’ll work out with and meet with before the draft.

I fricking hate these rookies who try and demand where they play. Playing in the NBA is a blessing. Shut your trap and you can pick where you play in 5 years.

I think its about time that we make these draftees get basically nothing if they leave after 5 years. This has gotten out of hand and it is making the league unwatchable and unfair for the small markets.

Sounds like he has a guarantee from the Knicks.

Is he gonna be any better than Rodney Hood?

I think it was Memphis he was not wanting to get the #1.

Happens in baseball all the time.

I get it, wouldn't you rather make the decision where you work rather than have it be dictated to you?

ESPN has started this mess with essentially telling a prospect where to go before he even gets drafted.

Didn’t he just say the opposite in an interview?

He was in New York and visiting the Knicks while saying this. He might actually mean it but his just catering to the fan base and starting to build the relationship. If he went somewhere else, he’s not gonna cry about it

So I guess the Knicks are not a trading partner. Good to know. Thanks Barrett.

Right, the other day he was on the Jump and said he'd be happy to play wherever he was drafted.

Idk why y'all care about him so much. Cameron Reddish was the second best player on that team anyway. Barrett is overrated IMO.

personally, I don’t care for Barrett that much but holy shite if you think reddish was better. Reddish was a black hole on their offense and was a waste of possession for duke in 95% of their games.

The difference between being picked 3rd and 4th is $20.5 million vs $18.5 million over the first 3 years. The $2 million difference should be a drop in the bucket compared to his career earnings, but I don't blame him for trying to maximize his early earnings.

I'm not the biggest fan of Barrett's game but Reddish was not good last yr.

Reddish was the 3rd best prospect coming into the yr and look how he fell. Reddish is the classic looks the part but his bball IQ isn't there.

Really meaningless. If NY passes and Lakers or another team takes him, he’ll be just fine and dandy.
