Can’t take both. It’s one or the other. If we get milton then clayton will go somewhere else

Is this the potential recruit list or the list of newborn babies in the Monroe newspaper?

Why would one bail for taking only 2 RB’s in this cycle?

Surely they will have the same competition on any other high end team.

Please explain

I will say if you have to choose, how can you turn away a stud instate kid unless the other guy is a Leonard Fournette type guy?

Why are people confident we land Roy? Has smoke been blowing our way as of late?

Either one but hoping for RB Milton instead of Clayton.

Milton looks like a beast

Clayton is no slouch.

I figured I’d bump this after this weekend. As of now, my list looks like this:

QB Johnson, Finley
RB Clayton
WR Boutte, Burton, Jarrett
TE Not much here but we’ll sign one
OL Jackson, Ford, Van Pran, Dumervil or Merriweather-Lewis
DL Berry, Roy, Guillory, Lee, Wright
OLB Clowney, Bryant, Kennedy
ILB White
CB Ricks, Johnson
S Ransom, Alford, Reed

I thought he was physically gifted but it seemed like he was out of position. I don’t care that he was a really tall guy but guys seemed to get inside him pretty easily at times and completely take his leverage. They just bulldozed him. I never understood it but assumed he didn’t have the feet for tackle and was a really smart guy so they needed him at center. He wasn’t some bum but it seemed like he had problems with a strong bull rush or with anyone with a strong low center of gravity. I know this isn’t a hot take. It was pretty obvious. Just seemed like he was never as physically dominant as I thought he should be.

Edit- that was in college though. Seattle is a pretty good organization. It’s not unusual for guys to be misused in college. I’m not going to second guess nfl guys. He was probably a necessity at center because of lack of a better option.

Is a very wordy way of saying ......

Not saying that courtand ford won’t succeed at og if he is placed there, but your 6-2 to 6-4 300+ guys don’t get cantilevered like Pocic did. He was a good, but he was a tackle, should have never played center at LSU. I do t care if he is a guard at Seattle either

Ethan Pocic’s last season at LSU was 2016. He was first team All American (Football Writers Assoc.), second team All American (Walter Camp, Sporting News, American Football Coaches Assoc.), third team All American (AP), first team All SEC (Coaches, AP)....all at center.

So there’s that.......

And there’s this. His concerns for nfl draft.
quote:

Tall for a center, losing some leverage battles because of it. Athletic ability offset by below-average core strength. Doesn't play with the pad level or leg drive to uproot defenders without help. Gets jarred by power across from him. Upper body strength needs work. Anchor will always be an issue against zero-technique nose guards. Gives into pocket pushers, creating traffic in the backfield. Defenders able to drive through his edge and redirect attempts. Can be quicker into proper positioning for reach blocks. Has difficulty securing zone blocks at times.

I’m picking Pocic as an example of what height can do for an interior lineman. I’m not shitting on the guy. He could push me around with one arm on roller skates.

I was thrilled when we landed him from The Midwest and hoped that trend continued.

I could go on, but the post noted that a man that is 6-6 or 6-7 at center is vulnerable for getting leveraged, and feelings get hurt.

The question was “Tell me about what you saw in Ethan Pocic at center here at LSU”. I posted what others who are involved with college football for a living saw in him. If we’re talking college football (which this board is about) he was an outstanding center evidenced by his accolades.

College and NFL are very different. Some who were not standouts in college do well in the NFL and visa versa.

Guy,

So am I.

That was his draft grade. Draft grades come in from what pro scouts see in a player DURING their college career as they have not played nfl football yet.

That’s why I asked txtgr24 and other guys like you to tell me what you saw.........not read.

I told you what I saw, then cut/pasted what draft experts saw too when describing his concerns. I’m still waiting for what you guys saw. Especially against teams that we would really like to start beating.

Miles ran Fournette into the teeth of the best defensive front seven available in college football at that time.......leading with a 6-6 center. He was a good center , but if you aren’t getting that my point is that a 6-6 interior lineman against Alabama’s DTackles is a bad idea (if you want to beat them, and Pocic is NOT the paramount reason we lost to them) then I really have nothing else to say to you.

I’m assuming you’ll reply again about something that I really never asked, but okay then.

I don’t know if it means much but Kendall Milton’s Instagram profile picture is him in an LSU uniform.
