Because they dont draft our players as simple as that, its like LSU, we can recruit the whole state of louisiana except Amite why ? Because we didnt put any effort there for years so they privilege the ennemy, I'm like that too Falcons are drafting our Tigers every year why should i root for the Saints ? I root for our players in the NFL wherever they play

frick tha saints!!!! Nothing better than watching them cry on national TV. (Refs we're terrible and cost them the game which makes their melt even sweeter) Born and raised in this great state but due to obnoxious family members grew to hate them from a young age so hit me with them downvotes, wont change the fact the who dats will be watching from the crib!!!

I think most root for both. But I find that the blue collar plant workers have the Saints as their #1 because they have no college affiliation. The white collar crowd actually attended LSU and has the Tigers as their $1.

Here is why I, as an LSU fan, don’t have an ounce of care in my body for the Saints and why many others probably don’t as well:

If you grew up in the Baton Rouge area prior to the Saints super bowl in 2009, you were in the minority if you considered yourself a hardcore Saints follower. Passion for the Saints in BR was nowhere near the level it is today, and non-existent in my family where every person for 3 generations has attended LSU and no-one was from the New Orleans area. No Saints influence in my early life.

LSU was it, and remains it for many. Never went to a Saints game growing up, always went to LSU. All my friends and family were the same, just the way is was.

And as said earlier, LSU will always be here. The Saints could up and leave. Just like Benson threatened after Katrina.

I never hated the Saints, but with everything going on in the NFL as of late I can say I strongly dislike the NFL and in turn, the Saints as well.

My personal opinion about this subject is a combintion of many LSU fans who aren’t from NOLA or South LA at all and the fact that people do put the saints above LSU acting like the college team isn’t as important as the NFL team.

Apparently people that have to ask this question don’t really understand how big LSU is outside of Louisiana and how many people came to school in Baton Rouge or simply became a fan of LSU without any ties to the state.

This thread is very similar to threads asking why people in Lafayette do not like LSU.

It bothers Saints die hards so much that people from LA do not like the saints. Just like it bothers LSU die hards that people from Lafayette do not like LSU.

Not everyone is gonna like the same shite. It’s a small state but it isn’t that damn small.

I’m a Bengals fan and I do not hate the Saints. I was rooting for the Saints today but the NFL is such bullshite that it’s hard to even watch anymore. That was the most atrocious no call I have ever seen and I couldn’t even imagine if I was a Saints fan how pissed I would be. I’ll always pick college over the NFL though and today showed why.

Ok, I’m a bigger fan of LSU then I am of the Saints but you can’t say something like this. You’re telling me that you don’t like people who put a professional team over an educational institution? The only people who put college sports over pro sports are us in the south. Everyone else will choose professional sports any day of the week

That is not entirely true. I’m from the North and most of the people I know would take college sports over professional any day of the week.

Have always liked the Saints. LSU is my only true sports love though. Was weaned on LSU from birth like previous generations of my family.

LSU was #1 at birth for me. I just never felt a emotional tie to the saints. I was born in New Orleans but bleed purple and gold. I am a big Tom Brady fan so the pats have been my team since Brady been there.

UpToPar - you have nailed it. I fall into this category. I don't hate the Saints, but I don't really care about them. I am not a fan of Sean Payton though.

I used to be a Saints fan but got sick of Tom Benson & his sh!t. I rooted for them through crappy times, then came the Mora years. Built a damn good team, huge Dome Patrol fan. They had success, then he broke the team apart cause he wouldn't pay anyone. OK, that's business. Then he wants to move to San Ntonio... Fk him, go! After he was too cheap to pay his all pro's he then wants to hold the taxpayers hostage? Fk the Saints. Funny thing is I was rooting for them for the first time in 20 yrs today because I hate LA(the city) that much.

Use to be a big Saints and NFL fan but each year there are more and more reasons to hate the NFL. Last few years, I've found out that LSU is fun to keep up with. Was kind getting back into NFL this year but after tonight, I shut the door on anything to do with such a corrupt organization. The LSU Basketball team is exciting and looking forward to LSU Baseball. Loving LSU.
