Again - this is man2man lock down the other teams best all game college CB.

I think the ledgend of PP outweighs the results. I love the dude, and consider him one of the all time greats for LSU. But does nobody remember that Julio had big games against him...

But the one that really knocks him from the top few imho, is the fricken Penn St Wr ballin out against PP. In the turf bowl.

I honestly can not remember a time where anybody put up 100+ yard game on Greedy. Can you? I Could be wrong....

I do agree that he is overhyped, but I definitely don’t agree that Fulton has proven to be better.

And who in my top 10 would you put above him? Zenon, Gay, or Simon.

I listed Chevis and Daniels, neither of whom had even been mentioned yet, in my top 5, so I think I’m being pretty good about avoiding a recency bias.

But he has been a good player.

He’s our best corner on what has been a couple of pretty good defenses, and he’s done it with DL play that is worse than the top guys from DBU have had to benefit from.

That’s important to remember. We don’t have the pass rush the other greats had, and we’re in an era with more prolific passing offenses as well.

I don’t think ranking him 7 in the modern era is off base at all

Peterson is one of the best corners in recent CFB. Greedy is totally over hyped, IMO. Corey Webster, was way way better. I think Tre White was way better than Greedy.

Florida threw away from Williams all game, but he struggled against Georgia and Alabama. Versus the Crimson Tide, Williams gave up a few first-down receptions, a touchdown, and a longer completion to Jerry Jeudy. Multiple team sources say they feel that Williams is overrated. Some think he is a nice player who lacks elite speed, and thus is not a high first-round talen

Does anybody remember when PP held Julio and AJ green to 80 total yards?

Well first off I agreed that he is overhyped. I then also explained why I felt like his career is worthy of being ranked #7 this century basically, not above any of the real “greats”.

Second, you cite an article saying he is overrated in relation to where he will be drafted , which has no relevance to how his career as a Tiger should be viewed imo.

Lastly, you seem hung up on his name, and I don’t doubt that did have some impact on the media and how that helped him build an early reputation. But that certainly doesn’t have anything to do with how I ranked him, so please don’t try to insinuate that it does.

I mean, there are certainly fans on this board that have hated on him since he declared and skipped the bowl game, and that could impact how he is rated by them. Not saying you are one of those, but it’s certainly just as possible as his name making people rate him higher.

His performance on two good defenses, the latest of which was one of our worst pass rushing teams in recent memory, certainly warrants a spot at least around the top 10 this century.

I’ll ask again, which in my top ten or that I left out would you put above him?

Zenon, Gay, Simon, or maybe Prude, Brooks, or even Hookfin??

Greedy got burned this year when he got tested. Got away with holding. I know he's projected to be like top 10 pick, but his stock was slipping this year as far as some NFL teams are concerned. I believe him not playing in the bowl game was a two-fold decision, not to get hurt but also not to risk dropping to second round, which believe me... is a possibility still.

He's 6-2 and has a lot of range which has gotten him out of some bad decisions, but like I said, he held a lot this year - not just in overtime versus A&M. I'm sure he's a great guy - was a great tiger, but he can also thank the media big time for taking his name and building a sensation out of it.

I'm not mad at him for skipping that bowl game. I'm just a fan like you so I could be wrong. I just don't see anything spectacular with him. He had one spectacular season... and with the name... yea im not stuck on his name or anything im just trying to explain why I think he is so hyped. I think his name and the media had a major effect on how people viewed his career.

ETA: I'm really not hating on him. He's a great cornerback that has a future in the NFL, but I don't think he will go to the NFL and be a pro bowl kind of guy...

I dont get all the ppl listing Tre White above Greedy. That's just insane to me. White was very good but he wouldnt be in my top 5.

Ratings are subjective, and this is LSU. I wouldn't put Greedy in an alltime top 5. He's "top tier", but just using your example, I'd put Tre White ahead of him.

That's not a slam on Greedy either, it just that LSU has had quite a few guys you'd call top tier.
