He would have had 10 in 2015 if the McNesse game wasn't cancelled. And I don't think there is any reason to think Les wouldn't have won all the games O did in '16 as well as most likely beating that garbage UF team. If we're going to be fair as you say.

so Les essentially got fired 4 games after a 10 win season.

You should read what I actually wrote...I said 10 regular season wins. LSU went 8-3 in the 2015 regular season. LSU went 7-4 in the 2016 regular season, which included 2 losses by Les.

Realistic goal 10-2. A loss to Bama is likely and then another out of Texas, Florida or A&M. Texas will be tough in Austin and Florida and A&M will only get better next year. I just don’t see us only losing to Bama yet unless our red zone TD production improves drastically.

All 3 are losing significantly more players than LSU this year

This was a great win, but we wouldn't have played in a "big bowl" if it weren't for the playoffs. This would have been a chik-fil-a bowl or cotton bowl type of year, similar to 2010 and 2012.

3 losses should be unacceptable next season with the favorable schedule and the amount of players expected to return.

Pathetic. We are just as talented as bama in terms of personnel, particularly with additions on the OL this class.

What planet are you living on? Nobody in the country is as talented as Alabama in terms of personnel. They've had the number 1 recruiting class for most of this decade.

Anyone expecting 10-2 and a loss to bama has to ask themselves why the narrative has shifted with a new HC.

You think the expectation that we're probably not beating Bama started with the new staff? I won't speak for anyone else, but I have not EXPECTED us to beat Alabama since 2007 or 2008. From about 2009-2013 I thought it was a toss up and since 2014, I've HOPED we would win, but definitely didn't expect a win.

“We have to temper expectations”

What I find amusing now is the, it’s OK if we can’t beat Bama and let’s just not worry about 63-10. Where was that thought process before?

Before, 10 wins was underachieving for LSU football. Now, 10 wins exceeds expectations and the staff should be praised for winning 10.

This was a good season. We have had like 10 of the same or better. While this might be a high point for coach O, it certainly isn’t for LSU.

Isn't the goal to win a national championship? Well, to do that, we don't need to beat Alabama in the regular season. The thought process has changed because the post season format has changed.

Playoffs and 11-1. I think this team will be good, just not as good as Bama.

Never said we were as talented. I said we are comparable, because we are. Yes they have dominated recruiting, but LSU cleaned up this year and it's not as if we haven't recruited well.

The widest gap this year was OL vs DL, and we have some major additions in that dept. Our WRs are comparable to their DBs and with Burrow playing so much better to end the season, and us moving to a more spread concept, I believe we can move the ball on them.

Obviously they are going to be ultra talented offensively next year, yet again. And we have questions at the LB position if (when, really) White leaves.

The only other team they will face all year that is as close to them in terms of talent is UGA.

I don't expect to win, but we should undoubtedly be able to compete with them if our OL and DL are healthy.

10 win regular season, 11 would be great.

9 is a disappointment

If LSU beats Texas, they will be in the playoff. Hosting Auburn, A&M (revenge), and Florida (revenge) are huge. At Mississippi State is the lone road game that concerns me (in the conference), but they will regress it appears.

Um, We're still playing for second as much as it pains me to say. Another year of Tua and those 4 WRs....and a lot of their defense returning. I think the bar is 11-2 or 12-1 honestly.

11-2 or 12-1 and a L to Bama would mean playoff most likely. Would be fine with that.
