Amazing how quickly this tragedy was swept under the rug.

I dont want to go all truptard here, but let's also consider the main stream media. With no agenda to keep up and nothing new to report, who was going to "follow" this?

I am amazed that the victims that survived and the families haven't done more to keep this in the news. I agree there.

Also, at 10:01 pm local time, the lights of the Las Vegas Strip will go dark for 10 minutes to remember the victims.

Seems like this could be a bad decision

The story disappeared because the evidence dried up. The dude didn't talk to anyone about this, they don't have much else to go on.

I don't get why that is so impossible to believe.

You do realize that this means just the neon and other decorative lights on the buildings are going dark. The street lights, sidewlks, etc. Will all still be lit. It's not like they are shutting down the entire grid on the strip.

I swear, some of you on here shouldn't be allowed outside without a helmet.

The story “died up” because there’s just not much of a story. Some dipshit with a few screws loose rented a room in the Vegas hotel and fired a bunch of rounds into a country music concert. What else is there to report?

Yea, I thought it was pretty funny that a few replies came through thinking it would just be pitch dark on the strip.

If you really want to strap on the tinfoil, remember that the Hearing Protection Act to deregulate silencers was coming up for a vote in Congress THE NEXT DAY. They pulled the bill following the shooting.

Have there been any reasoned guesses as to his motivation for the mass shooting?

Here are his brothers' ideas:

quote:

The report includes notes from an interview with Paddock's brother Eric Paddock, who "believed Paddock may have conducted the attack because he had done everything in the world he wanted to do and was bored with everything. If so, Paddock would have planned the attack to kill a large amount of people because he would want to be known as having the largest casualty count. Paddock always wanted to be the best and known to everyone."

Another brother, Bruce Paddock, told investigators that "Paddock was suffering from mental illness and was paranoid and delusional." A Las Vegas doctor, identified as Paddock's primary care physician, told investigators he believed the gunman may have had bipolar disorder but the he had refused medication to treat it. He also described Paddock's behavior as "odd."

I think because most of these types of shooters have documented history or leave some note or obvious trail of evidence, it's hard for many to believe it's possible that someone could have been mentally ill but never sought treatment nor left a reason for doing it.

It's certainly odd, but I just don't see why it is not at all believable.

Got home a little while ago. Went to the Healing Garden for a few minutes, also passed by the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign at the foot of the Strip. They've once again put up the 58 crosses by the sign to honor the victims. Very somber scene, mixed with family, friends and first responders.

Perhaps I should have stated better...no, ALL of the lights on The Strip won't be dimmed, merely the marquee lights advertising the shows of the various resorts. This happens fairly often after a legendary performer passes.

I am still convinced that Paddock was undercover CIA or FBI conducting an arms deal that went way wrong in the room. This story just got dropped by the media. How? The government wants it that way because Paddock was working undercover. Too much at stake for the truth to come out. Call me what you want but that is what I believe. Also consider a bunch of people who the elites perceive as "Fly over state country music fan Trump voters" were victims. The media & elites have no sympathy for people like that.

Yea, all CIA arms dealers buy their weapons at local sporting/gun shops with their credit card, fill out the FFL background check form with all their personal information, then do the deal in a crowed casino hotel where they are well known, lugging two dozen cases of weapons up to a hotel room when 100s of square miles of isolated desert are only a short drive away.

Absolutely. They kept something hush. It vanished overnight.
