looks like a reimagining of season 1

-desolate, rural areas? check
-children being harmed? check
-mysterious social groups as the villain? check
-a murder-mystery with vague clues? check
-narrative being split into 2 time periods? check

Did they say where the setting is?

Looks to be rural South, maybe North Georgia, Appalachia?

It was filmed in and around Fayetteville, actually.

So same same, but different.

Man, that aging/de-aging process looks amazing.
Also, I'm glad they only have one (or two?) main characters this time, instead of fricking four.

Cautiously optimistic.

they could tell the exact same story with the only difference being different actors and location and it would be my second favorite police drama/murder mystery of all time.

crack open a beer in the interrogation room and do some origami out of it and all as far as im concerned.

You forgot a cop takes the law in his own hands and distributes justice to bad guys and covers it up for many years.

That scene with him closing the trunk on some dude who was gagged and duct taped proves it.

I have high expectations for Season 3 simply because they know where they F'd up with season 2 and they actually took time to write and film this season rather than jump into it like they did last time.

And releasing it during gloomy January will only help set the mood.

the budget hit 90 million something, has some 200 plus scenes, this is gonna be epic. You should have seen the production around town, it was like a full blown town everywhere they went. it's gonna be LEGIT

Mahershala Ali,Stephen Dorff and Scoot McNairy? Oh hell yeah. This has so much potential. All three are underrated especially Dorff.

I'm definitely less excited after watching the trailer. Looks like they are trying way too hard to make it like season 1. But, maybe now that my expectations are realy low, I'll enjoy it more.

the trailer gives no info into the plot. Idk why folks are saying it seems more like season 1. And if it is, why that would be a bad thing. Season 1 was great. I'd love it if they kept up the cult/weird theme for each season. That was a huge part of the allure.
