I get what you’re saying but the market bears out for this role. There are obviously other benefits to being a cheerleader for a pro organization that make it worth the time and the wage. The proof is in the number of girls who try out for these positions and the amount of effort that is invested into making the squad and performing well.

Some teams (I.e., Dallas) treat it as a more full time gig and have numerous appearances. Those make a bit more but do have day jobs. Went to grad school with now psychologist/Saints cheerleader.

I know in the early 2000's Sainsations were making less than $50/day. I went to school with 3 Sainsations at Nicholls.

Wages are set by supply and demand. Those girls are easily replaceable. There's a thousand girls that would take a spot, and let's be honest, there's not a lot of skill involved. Thus, low pay.

Really?? Salaries are market driven. They are paid what the market demands. You are suggesting socialism.

The Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders get $1000 per game. Plus they can make money from appearances and such.

For 70k a game no wonder they are all smiling. This is whole time I thought they were just getting penetrated by multi million dollar nfl players.

Its beyond embarrassing, NFL should be ashamed. They should get $1000/week minimum considering the time they commit during the season.
Compare it the beer guys at the game. Imagine youre the beer guy and you had to show up Tuesday and Thursday to practice for three-four hours and then show up on Sundays to make $100. You'd be pissed.
