I love Direct TV EXCEPT WHEN THE FRICKIN WIND BLOWS OR IT RAINS!!!!!!!! Get ready to be frustrated. The only thing keeping me from getting rid of Direct TV is that I can record very easily any show on TV. I watch these shows when the wind and rain knocks out my satellite signal, which is pretty often.

Good luck with that. I’ve had directv for years and decided to switch at AT&T internet a couple of months ago. Had window of 9:00 am to 11:00 for the guy show up. Calls at 11:02 and says he will be there in 30 minutes. At 12:45 I say forget it and leave and call att and tell them to cancel the install. They didn’t even bother offering a free month etc for the problem, the gal on the phone just apologized and said their technicians stink and she’s had her share of trouble with them even though she works for att. Finally get another call from the guy at 1:40 when he shows up.

The techs are all contractors, so don’t expect anything good from them.

If they told you that you will not lose signal when it rains they lied. It causes some interuption once in a while but usually only lasts for a few minutes when it does happen.
Mine goes out too, but if you switch to the standard definition version of the channel you can still get the signal about 95% of the time, or at least that’s been my experience.

I am on PS Vue, $45/month. I have an HD antenna for the local channels.
There is nothing on TV, cable or air, that is worth what the cable/satellite companies charge.
A move from Cox to AT&T is out of the frying pan and into the fire.

This is what I have. Best television decision I ever made. The cloud system they use also allowed me to cancel Netflix. I essentially went from $192 a month to $45.

What is the Panoramic WiFi you speak of?
It's their buzzword for a mesh WiFi network . Meh

I also recently cut the Cox umbilical cord. In short, Cox sucks balls and I’d rather eat shite than ever go back to that. I’m also on PlayStation Vue with Roku sticks on all TV’s and a gigantic 1970’s era antenna in my attic that lets me catch all the local channels. I bought all the Roku sticks certified refurbished on Amazon for $35 each and I have 6 of them. I pay $49.99 per month and get more channels than I really need. I even get channels I didn’t have with Cox and wanted and now pay a lot less.
On the Roku sticks it’s all on WiFi so you have to make sure you have fast enough internet and at least a dual band WiFi router. If necessary, also need a good WiFi extender.

I have dealt with all of them at various times and can honestly say that they are all really pretty much the same. You might get some introductory rate, but they al end up on the same range unless you are willing to switch providers every 6 months or so.

What does it cost to get the SEC network if it is not included?
Man, if SEC network isn’t included in the basic package, I wouldn’t even consider them.
Anyways, I work for Suddenlink. There are positives and negatives for all cable, satellite and internet companies. You just need to find which one fits your needs the best without getting shafted on price.
Suddenlink - (in my area has the best internet hands down), tv service doesn’t go down in bad weather, home phone is free if you get cable and internet (you may say, big deal you don’t want or need a home phone...you would be amazed at the amount of ppl who do and pay ATT 40-80 dollars a month for it in addition to their other services. No contract for Suddenlink in addition to being able to buy customers out of their two year contract with Direct. That’s a pretty big deal.
Direct TV - their biggest draw is NFL ticket from a channel standpoint. People usually get it free one year and pay for it in the alternating year. It’s pretty expensive adding it to an already high DTV bill. You can take the service with you camping or hunting if you get an extra dish, so that’s a plus. They package tv with ATT internet which is really all based on perception. Some people are perfectly happy with 50 Meg internet and don’t even notice if it drops because they use it so sparingly. A few ATT markets have Gig fiber and it’s at a great price. Direct presents a lower bill for the first twelve months of their contract and then it jumps an additional 45-60 bucks per month.
Channel line ups are pretty comparable across the board. Each company will have a couple that the other doesn’t and vice versa.

Cut the cord w/ Cox but kept internet since AT&T doesn’t offer a decent option in my area.

DirecTV customer service is absolute shite ever since they were acquired by AT&T, website is dog shite and loops back and forth between AT&T site and DirecTV leaving lots of dead ends such as changes to service, package deals etc.
We pay for 4K UHD channels and receivers that will play 4K programming and that has been down for months. New DirecTV boxes have had firmware issues that will destroy your whole system if you connect to the internet for On Demand programming and they have no fix, won't send a tech out to work on the boxes, so we don't have half the service we actually should. It's really dog shite all around
I have never had DISH, had it at a hotel we stayed at and it was amazing, there were so many channel options and it was smooth and fast.

I found that my bill with DIrect TV was extremely dynamic and was always changing. This would lead me to have to constantly call them. When bad thunderstorms happened I would lose the signal. I finally dropped them, then AT&T after the merger because of their shady billing and fee structure and poor overall service.

Internet better than cox.
Tv when weather is bad you can give up watching TV.
I have one more year.
When it is up I will drop direct Tv and go a sling or something similar.
Internet no complaints.

When the weather gets bad we just switch to SD because the HD usually goes out.
