What is Fentanyl used for? Obviously it’s a pain killer but for who or what, a 600lb gorilla

Sounds like it could sedate all of them.

Analgesia, it's given daily in hospitals/pre-hospital , for acute pain typically associated w/ trauma.

Seems like a matter of time before we see a massive scale attack using this crap. Getting it into food or beverages for mass distribution.

It's used in anesthesia for surgery. Also in time released trans-dermal patches for severe chronic pain. People chew on the patches to get a quicker and more intense high.

Fentanyl is one of the absolute worst drugs out there right how.

Just the slightest amount can incapacitate someone almost immediately.

10 kilos

To put this into perspective, that's nearly 1/4 the weight of a baby calf.

Fentanyl or one of its derivatives is thought to be what the Russians sprayed into the theater in 2002 when some Chechens had taken the place and everyone in it.

It killed about 20% of everyone in the building.

Medical grade and street grade (one causing epidemic) are two totally different drugs.

The LD50 of fentanyl in monkeys is .03mg/kg so assuming it's comparable to humans.

The average weight of americans is ~85kg. Meaning 2.55mg is enough to kill the average American.

22lbs is 9,979,000mg which works out to 3,913,333 potentially lethal doses.

Not sure where they got the 5,000 number in the article. LINK This articls is about a 45kg seizure which they say is 18MM lethal doses.

The risk of absorption from contact is scary with Fentanyl.

Cops have died from barely touching it before.

This is such a hardcore drug and I am shocked by the lethality. It is surprising people are not dying from this more so than they already are.

If you’ve never seen the ravages of a chronic disease firsthand on a loved one then you probably wouldn’t understand. My cousin has fibromyalgia and he takes medicine just to function. On his good days he’s great like the time he hauled off my ac condenser one night or when he took my old tv to goodwill for me. But if he can’t get his medicine he’s basically bedridden and gets nausea, vomiting, almost flu like symptoms
