The real problem hasn’t been mentioned. This guy Peyou has been in the school system. With this raise he now gets to retire at his highest salary. One board member passed away, maybe two more have decided to not run again. Therefore, this new contract/raise was pushed before members leave.
This guy will retire with a large retirement salary and vermilion will be on hook for 3 or 4 retired superintendents.

The problem is government jobs where "administrators" get to retire at an early age, with huge benefits and retirements, for LIFE ! Look at the NOLA Sewerage and Water Board, where it barely functions with pumps that don't work and leaky pipes and they have several former "presidents" retired at over $ 170,000.00 per year FOR LIFE. It's time to cut government jobs in HALF and make them work till age 67 and have at least 35 years experience or NO RETIREMENT FOR YOU !!!!!!!!!
