I'd say it's easily correctable: lose the Seeker and make it timed. That's all she needs to do.

Then, she just created flying handball, essentially. Yeah, the bludgers or whatever they were called is another curveball, but it's not really a fun, new game. I'm not saying the snitch is the answer either. I hated that part of the game, but there needs to be something magical involved other than flying.

Why would you do this, in a magic book? The seeker and snitch are the coolest parts.
Timed I could agree with.
End at the catch of the snitch or time.
