And the Ginny in the movies was just not attractive at all.

I didn't like Harry and Ginny's relationship in either the books or movies. Just so forced.
Even looking back at how starstruck Ginny is upon meeting Harry for the first time, it felt like through the first four books, her crush was just innocent and something for Ron and Harry to bond over/poke fun at her/Ron for. It really felt like Hermione was written for Harry.
Then, starting around book 5, it seemed as if the author decided to shuffle the love interests instead of writing one in for Ron. It always seemed out of place to me for some reason.
Again, it's easy to read Ginny as "madly in love since first site" of Harry, but it just never made that connection with me early on, giving the later relationship a fairly "out of place" feeling.
