I love how the books become more mature as the characters age.
When I first started dating the girl I would eventually marry, she asked me to read the first book. She knew I was an avid reader, but I really wasn't interested in what I saw as a kids book. But, wanting to impress her, I told her to let me borrow it.
I finished the first book in two days. I asked her for the next one. Finished it in 4 days. I asked for the 3rd book, finished it in a week and a half.
When I asked for the 4th book, finding out that it wasn't out yet depressed me. I still re-read the whole series every couple of years.

He was a little, angsty bitch as a 15 year old... Which is probably a really good interpretation of most 15 year olds.
