I started reading them after my younger sister asked me to take her to see The Half Blood Prince at the midnight showing when it came out. Even though that it the most different from the books it hooked me. When I got home I started reading the books. Great series.
If you have a wife or girlfriend who loves the Harry Potter books - or just want some really nice editions of the first 3 books - Check out the Minalima versions. They are hardcover with amazing illustrations, paper pullouts, such as the Hogwarts admission letter, and popups as well.
