Florida wants no part of the Tigers right now.

Nothing like having to scurry around and cancel all travel/hotel plans to Gainesville at 5:00 PM on the Thursday before the game...

UF is too worried that loss to TN will come back to bite them, so they would rather LSU give up their last home game and play 3 road games to end the season, or just not play it at all.

I agree for Florida a loss would have been devetasting. Not playing was the best option for them.

I want to see Alabama lose tomorrow and watch the feet dragging SEC suddenly doing the two-step

UF wins. Thanks SEC. I hope LSU wins the rest of its games and makes the SEC sweat.

Around 11pm, ESPN uploaded this article by staff writer David Ching.

Some quotes:
-----------

"I think it's going to have to be a topic of discussion for sure as we go through the rest of the season. No doubt," Alleva said. "It's based on winning percentage and then head-to-head competition, so yeah I think that winning percentage is something that's going to have to be discussed."

------------

Alleva called claims that Florida offered that date [Nov19] for a possible makeup during negotiations "a flat-out lie."

------------

Alleva said Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley insisted as late as Wednesday that Florida would be able to host the game and would not explore any other alternatives. Foley's message changed on Thursday when weather forecasts concerning the hurricane grew more ominous.

"They thought it was going to stay out on the coast. That's what they said," Alleva said. "They thought it was going to be OK. That was basically it. From our experience here, we knew that first responders and policemen would not be available because whenever there's a storm you're going to lose all those important people. All those things I don't think were properly taken into consideration."

Alleva said LSU offered multiple options to the SEC and Florida including playing in Baton Rouge, at a neutral site and even for the Tigers to fly into Gainesville on Sunday and out that night after the game, should it be moved back one day.

"We were willing to play anywhere that we needed to play," Alleva said.

-----------

The story covers details of potential conference ranking impact, financial liability if S.Alabama game cancelled, and overall gives Mr. Alleva more "bite" than what was perceived up to now. Glad to see ESPN is finally giving our side of the story.

Still following the storm online and almost a million without power. One Floridian died of a heart attack attributed to Matthew.

Bottom line, Fla was not going to be inconvenienced in trying to play this game since it was their home game.

Yet, they were willing to inconvenience LSU and make them lose a home game (albeit non conference)later in the season to their benefit but LSU said I don't think so. We lost a game last year and there is no way to recoup that.

Florida figures the SEC will step in and make LSU comply creating a month long juggernaut of a schedule no team could really survive, better yet Fla gets LSU coming off some grueling games in November.

Much more doable

Adjust Schedule
10/15 Florida @LSU
10/15 USM @ Mizzou

10/21 Mizzou @ Florida
10/22 Ole Miss @ LSU

Then SEC/or Florida compensate Middle Tenn ST. for their mismanagement of this situation.

I said this yesterday. Alleva fought like hell for us. He didn't go to the media during discussions because it was pretty clear that Gainsville was going to host the game. There was nothing to report. It wasn't until Thursday that Foley started getting cold feet. They had no back up plan and didn't want to hear any of our offers the days prior. People should honestly be proud of the way Alleva handled it. This is all on Florida.

Yup, I hear you! Started posting TR Tuesday morning when saw it was gonna be a problem, though I didn't foresee Florida playing this out like they did.

Oh well, depending on how the season plays out for us and/or the Gators, and/or Tenessee, may see more surprises from the SEC before Division winners are declared.

You have absolutely nothing, NOTHING, to substantiate this statement.

It's gonna be 79 and partly cloudy Saturday night in Gainesville. Light winds. Looks like the Lizards dodged a beatdown.

A lil bit like chicken as the sun rises in Gainsville with the sprinkler system watering the turf of what most people use a a football field, it is just a grass farm today on this beautifull sunny day on which the wind direction would not be considered after the coin toss as to which end of the field to defend due to the fact that the non existent wind doesn't favor either team.

If you guys feel that slighted and wronged by the SEC. The BIG 12 is excepting bids for Schools am sure they would love to have LSU
