I am genuinely curious to know what exactly is holding them up for making a decision
Foley and the UF administration do not want to lose a home game and would rather delay until the game has to be canceled than consider any other alternative

Is Monday an option? Seems pretty reasonable at this point.

What I saw is that the eye will be leaving Florida at around 8 p.m. Friday. While it's always bad to have a state be hit by a hurricane, seems like 18 hours after the storm passes you to the east and you'll be ready for a football game

There's still projected 30mph winds and heavy rain

Right. Because Hurricanes (and in Gainesville case Tropical Storm winds) don't leave any damage in their wake. There will be no road closures, no power outages, no debris littering the landscape, EMS and gameday security will be easily staffed, routes to and from the stadium will be easily accessed by teams and fans, hotels will not be taken up by evacuees...should I go on?

Maybe they're thinking that if they keep posponing the announcement until after the original 11am kickoff time Saturday, everyone will just move on and forget about how great of a clusterfrick this has all been.

If there is power, no flooding, adequate security, the opposing team and equipment able to arrive timely and a host of other factors.

If they cancel, they should have to refund money. FL doesn't want to do that. Don't blame them, but stuff happens.

Uh, no. Have you ever been through a Hurricane? There will be wind damage with lots of trees in that area. Downed trees, power outage, roads blocked...etc. Expect that.

Weather might be ok game time, but that's not the issue. shite, there might not even be power to the stadium.
