I'm flying into Tampa Friday and driving up to Gainesville. If it doesn't work out, I'll party in Tampa.

I'll be getting drunk and tailgating with my people so come on down and lets show them whatsup.

Gee... Don't you think the Florida State Troopers and EMS that are responsible for staffing a football game might be a little preoccupied, regardless of whether Gainesville feels any effects?

I HOPE that is a rumor. If not Sankey better tell Foley you have two choices. Move it to Baton Rouge or keep it in Gainesville and if law enforcement deems it too unsafe you will forfeit the game to LSU.

Probably none. Try this instead...how many people will die because they didn't evacuate and were killed by the hurricane's effects? I know you'd probably like to put the deaths on officials, but the truth is responsibility of the deaths falls on those not evacuating. At the end of the day, they're the ones worse than stupid. Place the blame properly.

On the FL side I would guess the biggest concern for the admin, not the team, would be TV revenues as opposed to gate revenues. I will admit, that's a lot of incentives.

On the other side of this, it seems strange that the wind and eye is what they are judging this. Tornadoes and lightning are/should be part of the consideration. I've seen E Tx without power for days due to a gulf coast hurricane. All you have to do is look at pictures of Laurel MS after Katrina. Granted, the eye damn near went right over them though.

I will laugh if this were to happen:
LSU travels, things change, too late to evacuate, UF evacuates... LSU shows up at Swamp, UF forfeits. We just gotta make sure somebody gets supplies to our boys.

They don't care about how many people come to the game.

They don't care about support staff having to travel into a state of emergency, players, fans, and LSU in general; they don't care about liability issues their university will be facing, and LSU's as well.

The team is scheduled to fly into Tampa on Friday, and bus to Ocala. Look at your stormtracker.
They will have to leave earlier or fly near or into hazardous weather.
The equipment managers are driving I think leaving today.
This arrogance, stupidity, greed, and desperation shown by U of Florida officials is only topped by SEC officials who should have told them Wednesday either move the game or forfeit.

I suspect Sankey will cancel the game thus rewarding U.of Florida officials for their actions, and punishing LSU who had no input in any of this idiocy.

Florida is in a state of Emergency, thousands of people on the roadways evacuating, already shelters are filling, and when it hits first responders will be pulled from all over the state. There will be flooding, power outages all over the affected area, and we really DON'T KNOW what the AFFECTED AREA will encompass.

It is stupid to assume that only the area in the hurricanes path will be affected, typically HURRICANES SPAWN TORNADOES on the edge or within their track and you CANT PREDICT where TORNADOES SPAWNED BY HURRICANES will hit but you DO KNOW the odds of Tornadoes being formed ARE VERY VERY LIKELY, and no one even knows with an absolute certainty what the exact track will be AT THIS TIME.

Obviously the whole state will be affected in some way.

Anyone with any sense knows this.

TV contracts are through the SEC, not each school.

Of course, and that opens liability issues for that university.

Noted, I stand corrected. Well... I guess it is about the game then. In my mind that changes things slightly. There's two risk analysis that need to be done. The safety one (apparently, that one has been done) and even if not evacuated can the game be played at the Swamp in the aftermath (trailing storms with lightning, power, manpower, etc). I guess that one is what is being discussed now.

Be interesting to note if their version of BoS, AD, etc evacuate while concession workers, gate workers, etc were asked to stay. Just to give them shite. Doesn't really matter in the grand scheme, but he trolling opportunities are trolling opportunities.

They gotta play. Find somewhere and play the game. If they don't wanna come here. Find somewhere and pay them. Mobile, Tallahassee, Georgia dome w/ 8:00 start time. Just figure it out.

Aren't most cops usually imported from all round the state for these games anyway?

Honest question, if a Cat 3-4 Hurricane was bearing down on Nola, would LSU be playing a home game?
