Possibly. I don't think all markets have all the locals. Mine happens to so I don't need one. I know for sure that some of the other platforms, such as Sling, definitely don't have locals in all markets.

Decide what local channels you want to receive and see if YTTV carries them. I am with YTTV and they have my locals in the basic plan I have. However, I do have a digital antennae for backup just in case my internet were to be down.
