Financing.
Nobody lets you use money for free.

While I mostly agree with this, what about places like Home Depot that run 12 month 0% APR purchases when you use their card? You don't get a discount if paying in full that day, and they don't change annual fees or anything. So where is the catch there? (besides missing a payment or not paying the promo balance in full obviously)

I mean obviously they are making money on the front end by withholding the rebates.
No one does anything for free. But you can come out ahead with 0% in many cases. In many other cases you're better off going in another direction.
Honestly in my experience, people with mediocre credit sometimes qualify for 0% and they come out way ahead because they would be paying a middle-grade rate.
Just do your homework, get pre-appoved, know what you're buying and be happy.
Simple as that.

Yeah, but I should listen to you who thinks he knows more.....
Do yourself a favor. Educate yourself on stuff like banks vs. credit unions before you try and loudcap another poster. They hold a lot of the same products, but operate under an entirely different mindset, therefore differ GREATLY in their approach to things such as used car loans.
I said banks in my post, you tried to contradict that by using credit union stats....I went too far with trying to educate someone who is beyond learning.....much like the OP who as we speak is probably arguing against paper he signed and the ink is still wet...yet he's claiming fraud!
In his defense though, lenders NEVER require you to carry the extended warranty. This story begs that he tell the rest. Yeah the guy may have talked him into buying it, but why in the world was he still sitting there once his terms were raised across the board from what he thought they would be?
Have a great lunch, box!

I never tried to loudcap you, you are running off on some stupid tangent to try to sound smart because of your family member. Is your life really so empty that you have to write walls of texts to try to impress us based of your family's accomplishments in the car dealing industry? Let it go already.

Nope. I have no need to be validated in any discussion with you.

No problem, I wasn't referring to you specifically. I knew that you knew this, just from the way you brought it up.
I was more just throwing it out there.
Interesting.

I would imagine since that's lower amounts, they just absorb the cost of the money.
This works well when money is so cheap. HD and the like can probably get money in the 2 point range and figure they can make more on the street.

You know nothing bad will happen to you from owning the extended warranty?
I'm trying to see how you got the bad end of the stick.

That's what I thought, just making sure I wasn't missing something like Artie the savant was implying

They also bank on people not paying it off in time which I'm sure happens all the time.

Yep. It probably shoots up to 15.9% or something.
