agreed...love all the hard asses who have NO IDEA how he ended up where he is, but are quick to blame him completely...he may have screwed up and he may not have, but he was a Tiger, and a damn good one at that, and will get the benefit of the doubt from me.
I've never needed anything from anyone, and am pretty sure I never will, but I don't think the tough guys on this board realize how easy it is to go from Mr. Big on easy street to the gutter.
And even if it was wholly his fault for mistakes he made, is it really necessary to call him out and ridicule him? Does that make you feel a little better about where you are with your 4WD pick up, Budweiser, and designer ice chest? Why would anyone take the time to kick an ex-Tiger when he's down....because the kicker is probably a half a generation from the same lifestyle and it hits a little too close to home...

I wish I was in NOLA and was in a position to help the guy out with a job. I don't believe in cash handouts, but giving a guy a chance to do for himself is noble.
My "want" to help him out is only that much more because he is a Tiger. Not just because he played on the football team. I would hope other tigers would help each other out.
People get down on their luck. It doesn't mean they should be written off. I hope this guy gets an opportunity to get it together. If he has a mental health condition, I hope he is able to get appropriate help. At the end of the day, some one able to contribute to the system makes everyone better off and safer.

He got a 32 year prison sentence in 1998, so my guess is yes.

Why? Was it all the humanitarian work he did during that time he was playing a sport while getting his school and meals paid for?
I'm a former player, but I don't condone the free passes for being a Tiger when it comes to moral responsibilities.

I think so. He used to empty my trash can when he was an inmate at the LSP Barracks years ago. The sad thing about him is immediately after his release from state custody, he gets caught burglarizing a house in Old Westmoreland Village and gets sent right back to the joint.
He was just a big ol' country boy when he started LSU in '79, but got involved in drugs when he played pro ball in St. Louis and never recovered. Every time I hear about the Rimington Trophy, I think about how Ramsey completely OWNED Dave Rimington in the '82 ('83?) Orange Bowl. RD was a beast nose guard.

I remember watching that game. Early on the announcers kept jawboning about the great Nebraska Center, on and on. I kept watching Dardar knocking that center on his arse every play and wondering what these guys were talking about. After a while they didn't mention him any more. Dardar took that all American center to school in that game. A job well done!

I dont know this guys situation but people making excuses for this are the problem. Ok so every one has had to show some proof of existence. I mean when did this change? When i go to the dmv i had to show birth certificate. a long with every one else in this damn country. stop making excuses for people when the rest of the fricking country dont have a problem getting a job and finding a place to lay their head. And this isnt even the ex LSU player that had spent time in jail, so why doesnt he know his ss #? Why cant he get a copy of his birth certificate? If my parents born in the ealry 50's have theirs, why not this guy? Some people chose to be in these situations.
