I used to sit for hours with pause and record set on my tape recorder waiting for my favorite songs to play.

When they'd finally play my song the stupid dj would talk right up until the last second before the lyrics.

I don't want to get too far off topic but why include the 2000s in this thread? Kinda hard to be nostalgic about a decade that recently ended especially considering the 2000s is easily the worst decade since at least the 1930s. Just an awful awful decade all around. Horrendous popular music, bad economies, massive proliferation of global terrorism, constant war in the Middle East, the downward spiral of standards for TV with all the hideous ""reality TV" shows, and so on. The 00s gave us great cell phone technology and great animated movies. O

I remember getting yelled at when I would get on the internet and my mom was on the phone.

Tech has come so far

The Equalizer was a great show. Edward Woodward was perfect in that role.

Cocktail video games are maybe the 80's-est thing of all. I remember going to some pretty nice restaurants that had cocktail versions of Galaga, Pac Man, ect., but a really iconic one was Joust, the only cocktali game that was side by side.

But my absolute 80's P2P favorite was Cinematronics Space Wars, in which you and your buddy chased each other around the screen in an Asteroids clone ship vs. what looked like a stick figure version of the Starship Enterprise. It was always hilarious, but the best part was that your ship could be hit and sustain only partial damage, making comeback victories all the more glorious. This one was in the old LaPromenade Mall in Lafayette, Quarter Til, right across from Sang Lee's tae kwon do studio, immediately to the left as you entered the room. Like it was yesterday.
