Amazing that we suck so bad in a sport we invented.
Adrian Gonzales was born in San Diego, for example.
Basically the entire Italian team is made up of Americans with an Italian last name.
And on top of that, the U.S.'s best players are not playing.
And baseball really is a world game, with players from many different countries playing in the MLB, so it isn't surprising games are competitive.
