How’s that gas taste?

Still consistent issues with light primer strikes

I wonder if it’s the trigger springs.

Not sure if it's the single shot set up or the KAK down vent BCG. But it's no issues

I may swap triggers from the other gun and see what's happening. But this is a Rise Armament drop in trigger. The anti walk pins have to be pulled out to the bolt catch side and I have an oversized bolt catch blocking it. I'd have to drive a roll pin out

You may want to consider a Wolf extra power hammer spring.

Honestly hadn't had any success with the gun build as a whole, so no feedback yet. Shot about 5 rounds thru my 5.56 to rule out that it isn't the issue and it worked fine enough for that tiny sample size.

Got the gun to work without issue today. Opening up to 1/8" gas port required me to dial it back a bit with the gas block, so I was ever so close before with a 7/64" hole. I swapped triggers with my other gun to solve the light primer strike issue. Sucks though because I did love the feel of the trigger (Rise Armament Super Sporting Drop In). Probably going to email them tomorrow to see if they have thoughts.

So seems like my light primer strike problems were caused by the hammer following the bolt after firing the first round. After talking with the trigger manufacturer, they are sending a replacement. However, I'll probably just return that or save it for another gun.

Anyone have experience with the Geissele G2S? Seems like it's just a cost controlled version of their SSA trigger I see talked about a lot . Can be had right now for $130, which is what I paid for the current trigger.

Look into a Hiper fire PDI. I have one on my SLR build and it’s the fastest AR trigger I have ever run. You can get on sale for $150 at Optics planet right now

The Rise Armament trigger I had was actually light, crisp, and a fast reset. Since this gun is a home defense, I'm looking for maybe a little heavier, or two stage trigger now that I've shot it a little (single shot at least).

Just wait for deal on a Geissele SSA-E or SSA when they go on sale 5x a year for $149.

Either that or just get a LaRue MBT2S for $97 any time.

I second the LaRue. Underrated trigger group in my opinion.

Saw a lot of love for the LaRue as well. Definitely an option.

It’s what I use in all my AR builds. It’s a really nice trigger for the money.

The Geisslle SSA X bow is on sale at Brownells right now for 199.99. They usually run around 300.00. Bad arse trigger

The SSA-X triggers have about the fastest reset you'll get in a 2-stage.

I was gifted this M&P Sport II a few years ago. I'd like to update some things on it.

I have a red dot Holosun optic for it.

Because I'm left-handed, I'd like to install an ambi mag release, and an ambi selector switch.

What I'd like yall's opinion on is changing the stock hand guard. The carbine length limits what I can put on it and where I can place my hands. I'd like to get a 12" or 15" rail. But I want to leave the gas block where it is, leave the A2 front sight in place, and keep the D ring. So that kind of limits my options to the few drop-in rails that keep all these items stock.

This (AT3 Tactical) seems like an ok choice. The price is right, and it has good reviews.

Or this one (AT3 Tacctical), which is a 12" version. But it's a quad rail, and I think I'd like to stick with MLok.

Thoughts?

Those rails cost almost as much as the rifle. I probably should have stated that I don't want to break the bank.

And they appear to be free float, not drop in.
