They will recoup that 1.4 million in one game to two games tops. this is bullshite. i will not be driving my happy arse from Shreveport to pay those money hungry frickers $20-40 extra dollars just to park. If you go to an eagles game in philly you pay $20 tops. It is similar in other nfl cities as well. I'll come down there and pay $40 if they pick up my now poor arse from the parking lot, take me to a fricking roller coaster and then take my dizzy arse to the game. They will have to change their not so great thought out plan when 80K show up for the NSU game next year. Once North Louisiana fans figure this out, you can forget about expanding or selling out Tiger stadium. It takes the the whole damn state to sell Tiger stadium out every game. I don't care what the dumb frickers who have never left east baton parish say or if this is germans or if i like icees, it can't happen. I 'm not sure who had the final say in this but I bet it will change and their arse should be fired cause this is ridiculous. I don't mind paying to park, but $20-40 is plain stupid and asinine. I defiantly don''t wont to drive four hours to watch the imaginative playcalling of Crowton while getting arse-raped for parking. The defense makes the drive much easier though.

these budget cuts, what a great excuse?
too bad lsu is not part of the haynesvlille shale. those windows probably would have cost $1500 then.

This would not be happening if folks would clean up after themselves and not use the campus as a trash dumpster.

What percentage of 92,000 tailgate? Maybe 30%?

I'm not talking about people who walk by a tent and get a beer or burger but the dudes who actually go to the trouble of setting up a tent, beverage and food and stay all day.

The times have changed and I wonder sometimes how many of the decision makers were around LSU in the late 80's and early 90's.

They best be careful with the hand that feeds them - the fans. Things like this parking charge may do more economic damage to the program then gain.

Sounds like a great business idea. Buy some land around the Campus, charge 5-10 dollars and provide rides back and forth. Create a tailgating village to compete with them. Then they have to keep their prices down.

The only real issue here is the inconvenience associated with buying the parking pass on the street. LSU should just add the charge to my season ticket invoice and give me a sticker or mirror tag. LSU would get the money in advance, and they can benefit from the interest income. Heck, they can even add a convenience charge to make more money. I will gladly pay it. Some of us working folks are too busy to deal with getting in line to buy anything.

should fans quit buying stuff from the gift shops and concessionaires at the stadium in protest? Seems like if they really due the math, it is a money losing idea.

I think when season ticket renewal rolls around. Pay for tickets and for the extra money donated deduct $540 from the total and say why its less.

I'm sure they will, how much will be lost to the entire BR economy? Less people tailgating = less money being spent on tailgating supplies, less money being spent on the LSU Campus at the Union?

LSU only cares about the pocketbook, not its fans.

The only way for the fans to get notice is to hurt LSU where it counts, the pocketbook

Only if those people who don't wind up tailgating stay home and eat in. If they wind up migrating to bars/resturants to watch the game, or have parties at their house and buy supplies, it'll probably all even out. Obviously there will be individual businesses that will probably suffer, but overall I doubt a huge negative effect.

Any idea if they will allow you purchase multiple passes on the Friday before the game? It would be nice for just 1 of my group to go out and buy the 4 passes we would need for Saturday instead of everybody going.

If I understand the way it will work, there wouldn't be much of market for scalpers if somebody wants to buy up 15 passes on Friday and try and sell them on Saturday. Either the lots will be open on Saturday and you can buy one at that time, or they are full and buying one from a scalper would be pointless.

I have no idea about multiple passes! I dont think LSU even knows exactly how distribution and payment is going to be worked out yet
