I was sitting in the second row right behind the LSU bench and I couldn't see anything over the players standing on the sideline... and since i paid good money to watch the game in person i stood up the entire game... now i know for a fact that the people in the row behind me couldnt see over the players either but they got mad at us when we stood up... to hell with 'em, if you go to Death Valley to watch the entire game on the new scoreboard go home and watch it on tv!

Uhh, not really, there is no guarantee you can see from your seat. LSU does not locate seats based on the height of the person, so that is not really true at all.

Honestly there were times Sat night you could hear a pin drop in the stadium - maybe if people stood up they would get into the game more.

If the nut in front of me is leaping up on every play or standing continually, then I have the right to ask them to sit so that I may see the game. If you were sitting on your couch watching a football game and someone was standing in front of you blocking your view of the TV or everytime the ball was snapped leaped to their feet blocking your view of the TV would you just stand the entire game with your couch right behind you or would you ask them to sit so that you could see the game. If you told them they were blocking your view of the game and then they basically told you to p***off or that you need to stand, what would be your reaction?

I always enter Tiger Stadium with the expectation that folks are going to sit in their seats and watch a nice football game.

This makes no sense. How can you compare sitting at your house to actually being at the game with the excitment and emotion that is in the stadium.

Find another topic to drive up your post count cause this is ridiculous. Get over it and

The original thread was someone continually standing a blocking the view of those behind them. There will be exciting plays where everone will stand in response to a long pass, interception, long run, etc. This is acceptable and good. But to stand the entire game or leap to your feet at every snap is not acceptable to those behind. Guess what, if you took all of the benchs and seats out of Tiger Stadium so that everyone had to stand how many people would pay that kind of money to stand?

that might have been me, but I doubt it. The people around me know that I stand up for every defensive play and get excited very quickly. Why go to the game if you are not going to cheer and help the team with your voice!!!

If anyone has failed, I believe it would have to be you. You have FAILED to make sense and make a valid point as to why you can't get excited and stand up whenever you want to at a live football game.

I have season tickets, have been to every home game since I was a toddler, and yes, I get excited about the action on the field and stand in anticipation of big plays. Yep, I'm a real a-hole.

A sitter bothers no one. A stander bothers everyone behind him.

You have failed to understand a basic principle. Being a fan does not give me, or anyone else, the right to interfere with another fans right to see the game. There will be times where leaping to your feet and standing for a play is great. If everone around you or almost everyone is standing for the entire game then by all means stand also or buy tickets in another section. If everyone or almost everyone around you is sitting the majority of the time then do the same or buy tickets in another section. You can't judge whether a person is a fan or not by if they stand or not. A person can cheer and make noise sitting or standing. By your standards people who can't stand the entire game or have the ability to leap to their feet at a moments notice have no right to be in Tiger Stadium and they should just go home and watch it on tv. That is truly a pitiful attitude. Have some common courtesy for those around you. Everyone has come to the game because they love the Tigers.

My guess is that whoever would still be there would be true fans who are passionate about LSU football...people who get emotional about the Fighting Tigers and who are there for a football game, not some social event.

And yes, I stand constantly during a game. I also scream and yell a lot, especially when we're on defense. It's a sad day when some of our "fans" think of this as unacceptable behavior in Death Valley.

OK, so this guy in front of me has to stand up everytime the balls in the air or someone breaks
thru the line. Nothing obstructing his view...
just has to jump up in the middle of the play. Must have missed half the game. Dude, I hope you don't have season tickets.

I bet the same guy has the audacity to cheer loudly on third down so that you can't hear your cell phone conversation. And he probably won't get out of your way when you want to leave with 7:40 remaining in the third quarter. No doubt he also stands and bows to the defense on fourth down, which causes you to drop your jumbo dog into the fathomless fold of fat at your gut.

What an uncouth bastard he is.

Then LOVE THE TIGERS and stop bitching about what is going on around you.

I have never noticed when purchasing tickets that I had the choice of sitting in a sitting only or standing only section.

I am not saying that these people need to watch the game at home, but at the same time don't bitch about people enjoying themselves around you.

It's not unacceptable to stand at times during a game and is actually expected: kickoffs, big third or fourth down plays, after a score, etc. What is unacceptalbe is interfering with someone else's ability to see the game. Not everyone sitting has come to a "social Event". Not everyone standing is a "true fan who is emotional about LSU football. Be a fan but be courteous to those about you. OBTW there wouldn't be near the noise in Tiger Stadium without the "sitters" there also

Actually, the original poster stated the guy "just has to jump up in the middle of the play." If he were continually standing, no jumping would be necessary.
