I know this and you know this. The jury likely does not if they have been listening to the trial and The NY Times.

I certainly hope the defense plans to proffer his testimony.

What Merchan is attempting is to go the democratic way so that one day if there is a opening on SCOTUS he will be appointed by a democratic president. That's his idea.

He is too white and too male to get that job.

Only reason Garland got nominated was that it was to lock in a win if the GOP caved.

Who knows what the jury is thinking watching that.

If the judge isn't going to allow the defense to examine the witness, why let him call the witness?

Unfortunately I don't think it matters with this jury. Who knows what has been done to get to these people assuming they needed persuading.

If he is low on his down vote quota for the month this thread would be a potential record breaker for him. You know he has to be shaking all over in anticipation.

Clinton mob has, or will approach them.

I am waiting for the response along the lines of the Judge is simply trying to get a handle on courtoom decorum.

Unfathomable that this judge is doing this crazy shite. Will there be repercussions?

It's telling that Merchan did not admonish Costello in front of the jury for the eye rolling and "jeez" comment.

This is what I don't understand, Prosecutors have an ethical obligation to learn the truth and dismiss charges when appropriate, why do they get to object to a fact witness that could help them learn the truth about the case they're presenting? They should, ethically, want to hear everything this witness has to say.

Where exactly do you think ethics comes into play in this trial? Seriously?

Bragg made up a felony charge to get this trial when it would have been at most a misdemeanor, which was past the stature of limitations (felony would be as well until the state of NY extended it due to COVID).

Wake up dude.

This judge may be biased enough to deny the proffer just so that Trump has to endure the additional time for the appeals court to remand the case.

Blanche is arguing for a dismissal now. I know it's routine operation but the idea of wasting time arguing before this Judge for dismissal is laughable. Better chance of rock growing wings and flying away.

I was about to say I don't think he can since it's an evidentiary ruling...but then I remembered who we are talking about.
