You may not want to hear it, but this is the answer for traveling with a kid and adults.

Those smaller SUVs can't generally sit adults on the 3rd row. For that, you want an Expedition or a Tahoe. Nice minivans are about what you'd pay for a slightly used Tahoe or Expe.


ETA: I'm not a Chrysler fan, but the middle seats folding into the floor gives you tons of flexibility. Had a Caravan, and it rattled all to shite after about 2 years. It did last me to 110K miles though. However, I think the next one will be a Honda.

ETA2: I said bigger SUVs for 3rd row usefulness...yeah, scratch the Armada and Inifiti QX80 off that list. Can't get an average sized adult back there on those.
