My wife and I are expecting our first child, and I am needing to trade in my car for a third row SUV.

We've looked at a few so far: Honda Pilot, Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, and the Ford Explorer.

All of them had their pros and cons, but so far the best value seems to be the Hyundai Palisade. It seems to have more standard features than the other 3 based on the trim level we're looking at. I am leaning towards the Honda Pilot however just because I know how reliable Honda's are having already owned a couple in the past. My wife prefers the Hyundai.

Any advice from anyone that are familiar with these vehicles would be appreciated. Thanks

You’re WANTING to. Not needing to. This is what is wrong with America.

Why do you NEED 3 rows?

Had a Palisade since 2020 and it’s been great. My mom has a Pilot and the Palisade is far better than the Pilot. Honda is great, but the Hyundai is a very good SUV, even more so for the value that it is.

The in-laws are over all the time, and it will just make it easier to travel with them once the baby is born.

The Pilot's the easy answer. Keep in mind that they'll all drive great brand new. Go to the used car lot though and find them with around 50k miles and you'll see the difference. The Honda is the only one that'll still drive like it did day one.

Unless they recently changed it, fun quirks of Palisade. There is no gauge to show your cars temp or your oil levels. Both palisade and telluride have windshield that can crack with a bad stare, but at least Kia was willing to replace.

You have 2 adults and an infant. You don’t need a third row yet

Out of those easily the pilot for its reliability.

My wife got a slightly used (about 30k miles) Acura MDX for about 30k a few years ago. That's a nice version of the Pilot. I'd look there if the math works out (I'm not sure if new financing has an advantage worthy of the initial price difference).

The Telluride/Palisade still have a markup, I imagine. They've been super hot since their release.

You will never use the third row if you are traveling just fyi. Barely any storage space if you use the 3rd row in the vehicles mentioned

The third row seat is too small for an adult on any of those, but getting one with captain's chairs in the second row will make it slightly more manageable.
