Yeah I forgot about it until I read your thread title, but I barely remember this.

I knew I'd remember the jingle if I listened to it. 100% correct

There was cartoon for everything in the 80's and 90's. I used to watch the Sci-Fi Channel cartoon line up in the mornings before school. Pretty sure this was in the line up at one point along with the Pro-Stars and bionic family.

Yeah, lots of late 80s films had cartoons whether they should have or not.

BTTF, Beetlejuice, Bill And Ted, etc.

Hence why Saturday Morning Watchmen was created that, amongst other things, had Rorschach as a pet lover and had Comedian interested in Sally. Anyone familiar with the material goes WTF, especially at the last one.

can't forget The Real Ghostbusters, and there was even a Super Mario series that was actually called The Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3 which I always thought was weird. It wasn't part 3 of the series, it was simply named after the NES game SMB3

The one thing I remember about that show was an episode where they used lemons to jump start the DeLorean.

Happy Days, Gilligan's Island, and the fricking Odd Couple had cartoons back in the day.

Remember how there were two different Ghostbusters cartoons at one time?

"The Real Ghostbusters" was the one based on the movie. The other one just called "Ghostbusters" was unrelated as far as I remember.

The "other" Ghostbusters cartoon was based on a 70s TV series starring Larry Storch and Forrest Tucker. LINK

There were multiple SMB cartoons. Super Mario Bros Super Show and Super Mario Bros 3 were different shows. I think there was another one as well.

I used to watch the BTTF cartoon. It was ok. Speaking of forgotten movie based cartoons, I also watched the Police Academy cartoon around that time.

A little bit off-topic by not being a cartoon, but...

Yup, that cartoon was based on a TV series from 1975:
