I work for a company that operates hundreds of helicopters. Crashes are not uncommon in the industry. Frankly I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

I'm not skeptical at all. That implies that I have doubts about what happened. I have no doubt he was taken out.

I think he was taken out as well, but from someone within Iran. Maybe they will take out the "real" leader next and we will have a Revolution on our hands.

Why can't it just be a helicopter crash in bad weather?

Because that would make too much sense. Half this board thinks 5G is turning the frogs gay.

You’re talking to someone who believes the U.S. military warped that flight from Malaysia to a U.S. base, so sure I’m skeptical.

BBC was saying that they will have one in 50 days or so.

Ok that isn’t going to be good.

Mullah will DQ all candidates interested in reform. Either we get riots over a bullshite election or we get a low turnout election where the hand picked stooge has no popular support. And this will be by the end of August, going into US campaign season.

There's nothing fishy about an old arse helicopter flying through fog in mountainous terrain. Come on dude.

What kind of effect does killing him have anyway?

Potentially lighting off a shitstorm in Iran between this guy being hated and the mullahs having to push through his replacement in sham elections.

This guy was known as the “hangman” for what he did to opponents of the regime. They are deploying military across the country to suppress potential celebrations of his death.

Helicopters crash more often than airplanes. Then add the fact that the pilot was a Muslim. A Muslim crashed the Malaysian airline while the majority of Malaysian pilots are Chinese. They stopped aff action after that.

I think Khamenei was grooming Raisi so I am not so sure this was politically motivated. Think it was just piss poor planning and piloting.

Because it’s the leader of the biggest terrorist state in the world lol it’s the leader who helped the Oct 7th attack on Israel - it’s the leader who is funding their proxy wars.

Yea, not a big deal though lol

In their system, he’s not the true leader. He does more with domestic politics, but the Ayatollah is the ideological and foreign policy leader.

It’s a pseudo big deal in internal Iranian politics because Raisi and the Ayatollah’s son were the two leaders to replace him when he goes.

Now that he’s gone, it’s almost assuredly going to be the son of the Ayatollah once Khameini passes.

Who cares? it's not like Iran's Prez makes any decisions. However if the Ayatollah bit the dust I'd be interested but wouldn't give a shite if he died.
