If you have to ask . . . then the answer is “Yes.”

This is actually an example of a very interesting phenomenon among humans. We always assume someone else is going to or already has responded to an emergency.

Note to anyone dealing with an emergency situation, assign specific people to certain tasks.

For example, don't say "someone call 911". What you do is assign someone to it, like "you (point and make eye contact) call 911 and wait there to guide in the ambulance.

It's not that people don't want to help, it's that they assume they don't know what they are doing.

Would probably prefer watch her die than get busted for possession.

Man I’m usually the first to jump into action.

I’ve hoped out my car to help a man who appeared to have a heart attack while parked in the street

Changed two random young women tires at 3 in the morning

Called the cops over some young kids walking around with guns

As far as addicts I’ve lost compassion they are a stain on society you can only help people who want help.

If you have to ask, the answer is yes. You didn’t live up to the person you want to be. Doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

About a year or two ago, I was driving down Airline and at the intersection of Sherwood Commons, there was a tan Corolla sitting in the left turn lane with all the doors open. There was a woman hanging out the passenger side completely passed out, and a man in the drivers seat with his head back, eyes closed and mouth wide open. I kept driving but called Troop A to tell them what I saw.

Probably 30 minutes later and I'm heading back the other way. Their car is now on the service road with EMS and 2 state trooper units in the parking lot. They're both sitting up on stretchers, likely revived with Narcan and not knowing what the frick is going on.

Either way, I felt like I did the right thing. I didn't get involved or stop or anything but I did my part..

WTF is wrong with you? If you think someone is dying, you can at least call 911, regardless of whether or not you think the person "should" die. You don't have to hop out and give her mouth to mouth, but dial 911, you heathen.

Or maybe, given today's climate, they were hoping someone like you would stop so they could rob you, knock you out, and then you wake up in an hourly rate motel in a bathtub full of ice and missing a kidney.
