Dow above 40,000. Are you doing anything different?

Seems like everytime the dow hits a milestone like this, people start questioning whether we are in a bubble and then we get a reversal. Are you all still bullish and where do you find something “undervalued “ at this point?!?

Crazy how people just make random shite up lmao.

Reversals didn't happen anytime soon after 10k, 20k, or 30k.

For the kids I sold a lot of my individual holdings and moved them to S&P ETFs.

I'm 46 and plan to be 100% stocks for the foreseeable future, probably until I'm about 60.

40,000 doesn't change anything for me.

Same for my personal investment accounts.

My employer moved to Schwab on Jan 1, so that account is throttled on SWPPX.

Let's ride.

40,000 is just a nice round number

The Dow also made a high when it hit 39,723 which isn’t so memorable but it was a high nonetheless

I expect there to be some profit taking.

Dow at 30,000 six years ago. Dow at 40,000 today.

I bought a dozen eggs for 3$ six years ago. 3$ buys nine eggs today.

I’m paying 25% more today for stocks and eggs than I was six years ago. Real value of stocks and eggs- same as six years ago.

I saw a post on here one or two years ago asking if the DOW would hit 40,000 or dip below 30,000 again first.

90% of this board said dip below 30,000

I’m still indexing; but, I do think we’re going to see returns slow down/normalize. I’m a bit heavily tilted towards the S&P in VOO and will likely add more VT to add some international exposure this year. I’m at 90/10 and want to be more at 80/20.

As for undervalued; I think there’s still some. I added more MO this year as a undervalued dividend play.

There is basically no scenario in which I would make any decision based on the dow, a price weighted index.

I was told the normal on this board is max contributions.

It actually kept me straight when I was thinking about dipping.

Wife and I still max it out both accounts.

I bought VGT a few weeks ago already up 9% or so. Thinking about selling soon and buying back in if it dips to 500 again. This is my brokerage account that I’ve been swing trading a few stocks in. Kind of play money.

Maxing both 401k and Roth too
