It was an interesting watch if you didn't know much about it before watching.

I watched it this weekend.

Why in the hell would anyone use their real name?

Since it wasn't an ongoing monthly subscription, I assume that you could have used a prepaid credit card to buy the credits..

Even if you were successful in using a fake screen name.. and a prepaid credit card.. if you actually did meet someone.. some of these people would want to have to sex with you.. and then blackmail the shite out of you..

There is no way in hell I would use any of the dating sites if I was married..

Not only no, but hell no..

Somebody took the data dump and ported it to a spreadsheet of something like all the users in the New Orleans area. I don't recall, but that spreadsheet was either posted somewhere relatively public, or people were emailing it around. I was curious, and spent a bit of time looking at the spreadsheet. There were a few people I knew to at least some degree. One was someone I knew both from both work and kids' activities. Not sure how that went with his wife.

But the thing that really amazed me were the numbers of people who signed up with their regular work email addresses. I've got to think that if / when things got ugly, more than a few of the employers would have fired the people involved. Talk about a great way to simultaneously blow up your marriage and job.

I knew a guy. He used an email address with his real name I. It. He’s still married so I guess after his wife extracted her pound of flesh and he groveled sufficiently, it was survivable.

Wife and I may watch it.

Never signed up for it.
Never searched the list.
Don't know and don't care if anyone I know/knew is on the list.
I could give a shite about what seedy activities other people do to occupy their time.

Insert cheesy quote meme:
Great people talk about ideas
Average people talk about things
Small people talk about other people

IIRC there were several prominent posters (at the time) that were on that list.

You would have had to get a credit card with a fake name because that’s what was dumped.

Nobody signed up with their real name

Had a couple friends on it.

One that got exposed was on his honeymoon coming off a rager of a wedding with a 100k+ reception. They didn’t last a year.

Know a couple that was on it. Never found out of they were aware of each other, using it as a swing partner search engine, or what. They’re still together.

I remember seeing some of my parents' friends on there

What a dumb thing to sign your actual name on. So, so dumb.

I'm not prominent but I suppose I'm on the list. I think I joined around 2014 when I was single and first heard about it existing. I was totally curious after that. I never met anyone from there [sure, Sao. Sure] but the thought of seeing someone I may recognize was way too much temptation.

Is this list still searchable online anywhere? I was out of the country at the time it was leaked and never got a chance to look through it.

A couple Louisiana GOP functionaries were on it. I forget their names, but the excuse was it was “opposition research.”
