My eye doctor was on the list.

Other than that I knew one guy whom I wouldn't be surprised to learn that his wife approved of him being on there.

That's all for me.

Ashley Madison was a scam in a lot of ways…they had hired female posters who would reach out to you acting like they were interested…

I wasn't on the list, but if I was I damn sure would have used a fake name.

IIRC, one of the later dumps was everyone's names from their credit cards they used (which you had to use one to be on there). So even if you had a screen name, your credit card gave you away.

They brought in over a million dollars from people who paid to have their information removed after the hack. They didn’t remove any of the information.

My wife printed the list and sat on the phone with her girlfriends going over it for people they knew. They all work in politics and were really looking for any elected official. Saw a couple guys I knew and was like, "Yup. Figures."

I recognized several guys, many business professionals, on the list. One guy worked for a fed gov agency and used his work email.

I remember someone emailed me the list of Louisiana guys one Friday evening. Sat on the patio drinking beer, scrolling, and going “Holy shite! _____ is on the list too. What an idiot.”

Was the documentary worth watching?

It was ‘ok’. Sort of drug our way longer than it needed to. They mostly featured 2-3 couples whose families were caught in it. The one Christian dude had an angel for a wife and was a 100% narcissist throughout his excuses and apologies.

Most all though, it was more about the company background and the hacking back and forth.

The wife and I took a look at the list whenever it was released. She didn't find anyone she knew but a girl I worked with at a previous job was on there. Her and her then husband are obviously now divorced and she has a total of NINE kids(3-first marriage, 4-second marriage, 2-step).

There were some other names that rang a bell back then. I'd have to check the list again.

That was a fun megathread back in the day. I remember there was a document of all louisiana based accounts. I found coworkers, a relative, childhood friends.

When I talked to the relative about it, he admitted it but said that the charges were bullshite. He admitted to spending around 20 bucks but the dump showed over a grand.
