Any baws on here get outed when all this went down or have any good stories?

Just watched the doc on Netflix and had forgot about this happening. I guess I was single at the time and wasn’t paying much attention.

Let’s hear it OT!

A former coworkers husband was on the list. BTW, Ashley Madison was like 90% dudes. That shite was a scam.

ETA: I worked for the state of louisiana at the time and HR sent out a memo telling everyone not to check the list.

Does this place still exist? Wasn't it determined that AM used a lot of bots? Probably no different from what many of the others do today, but perhaps AM was the first to do it?

Why would anyone subscribe to them -- if they were caught using bots and they had terrible privacy security?

I wasn't on the list, but if I was I damn sure would have used a fake name.

No but an acquaintance of mine did. Led to his divorce. A few baws in the neighborhood as well. I can’t believe people actually thought there were just a bounty of horny women just waiting to hook up with married men if only you’d enter some basic info online.

Was the documentary worth watching?

It’s still around surprisingly. Also watched the Netflix show over the weekend.

Ain't no "was."

It's still going. With twice as many members as in 2015.

And reportedly gaining new ones at a record pace due to the documentary.

I haven't seen it on Netflix, but I may check it out. Today, there is no way I would ever use that site/app. Too many others out there that can easily scam you, and especially for what it is known for, "Life is short, have an affair."

A married person is just asking for trouble.

I knew at least three people who were identified. One lost his job with a church. That’s all I got.

I remember it made some people sweat. I remember a big name from our town showed up on the list . No surprise though

The craziest thing about that was how many genius Boomers and Gen X’ers use FirstnameLastname@____.com email addresses to do their dirty work.

Not saying they were smart about it but I believe most people were exposed through their credit card information. Except the really bright ones who used company emails and credit cards.

The Netflix doc features a guy from NOLA who committed suicide.

My wife was pretty interested in that list so thankfully I wasn't on it

Our neighbor was and a few other people we knew, and several of my coworkers.

One of my favorite doctors was on the list, along with someone from work. The former got divorced. I didn’t know anybody well enough to hear firsthand accounts.
