As if Louisiana, or any other State needed to make decisions on it's own accord, they would be the exact same as what recent history has brought us to.
I'm sure they say Delaware puts in more than they get back due to corporate sheltering. It's simply a BS money metric. What industries does Delaware offer that if it was a standalone country would make it sustainable? Farming? Mining? O&G? Fishing? What? What resources do they harbor that makes them more beneficial? Same for Vermont, or how about Minnesota? Lots of agriculture, but they are landlocked so the system as it is designed benefits them.
