Notice I didn't say "died"...wanted to keep things nice.
After reading the other thread, I'm interested in reading the responses to this question.
The first that came to mind for me was Phil Collins. Trick of the Tail and Foxtrot are probably my favorite Genesis albums, and Abacab was in my rotation while it was out. Then came some solo songs that were decent (In the Air Tonight), but after that, everything went to shite around the mid 80s where he put out nothing but sappy prom music that everyone in the US is now subject to listen to every time they go grocery shopping. Against All Odds, One More Night, etc. Then toss in some of the other cringe worthy songs like I Can't Dance and Sussudio. Yes Phil is still alive, but it was about ten more years that he continued to put out crap IMO.
So what say you Music Board? Who for whatever reason, should have hung it up ten years earlier?

U2 (anything after Zooropa and even that is questionable), Rush (anything after Grace Under Pressure and even that is questionable), ACDC (anything after For Those About to Rock), Van Halen (all of the Van Hagar), Bruce Springsteen (anything after Lucky Town), Metallica (anything after the Black album).
