Watching the above show and wondering why do we cast black actors as Russian revolutionaries in the early 1900's. Or as a paramour to a white movie star in the same show?

I mean, I know why. But I'm wondering if it is as annoying to others as it is to me. I love historical fiction and period films and the (mis)casting of things that would never have happened is as glaring as having Henry the 8th wearing an Apple watch.

Do the producers not know how annoying this is to the average viewer or do they not give a frick?
