Saints projected by Las Vegas … with 7 wins boasting the easiest schedule in the NFL.
If they played just an Average strength of schedule… they would only win 4 to 5 games.

Translation: We are REBUILDING

What We Need…..

They need Spencer Rattler to eventually develop into a quality starter to hasten the rebuild. I would put him in the lineup toward end of year as playoff hopes disappear.

Trade Lattimore for hopefully 3rd round pick in 2025 draft.

Hopefully acquire 1 or 2 extra compensatory picks for 2025.

*** Saints NFL Draft for 2025:

A). 1st rd…..OT

B). 2nd rd…. Running back with good catch ability and speed. No big bruising backs… they are not a threat in todays game and not in game plan of new offensive coordinator.

C) Remainder of picks…. Best Available DEFENSIVE Players.

I, too, predict 6-7 wins for the Saints. See you next season.

The Saints will win at least seven games this year and that bet will push.

just like it did last year at 9.5

don't underestimate DA when it comes to meeting a 7-10, 8-9. or. 9-8 record son.

Wonder if Vegas just looked at DAs record against teams with a winning record and said: 8 games vs team w winning records last year, 2 games vs Kirk Cousins = 10 losses, so the line will be 7 wins

What concerns me is how long it will take for the offense to gel under a new offensive coordinator. It always takes time.

The odds of a 5th round pick becoming a quality starter are exceedingly low especially at the QB position. It’s not impossible, but it’s unlikely enough to be considered an extreme level of wishful thinking. In no way is it something you’re basing a rebuild around unless you want to suck.

We were going 1-4 anyway I reckon lol
And your right about a new OC and a slow start as being probable. Hope they can hit their stride after week 5. Last 4 games are very winnable.

He wasn't drafted to develop into the eventual starter. He was drafted to be a backup. The hope is that either he or Haener breaks through and the Saints have a solid QB2 for the foreseeable future. If either of them end up starting long term...the team is in a lot of trouble unless they have a Purdy or Brady type of break out.

A) Already have that. Just need to develop him. You want more vets on the OL than any other position. Like QB, starter quality OT prospects are few and far between. Address another position in the 1st Round.

B) It's always good to have a hammer to compliment a slasher. You need someone that can grind out 2-3 yards in a pinch. A good OC can find ways to use both effectively.

This team is capable of getting to the SB imo because the talent is there to do so. It's just 1 small thing standing in their way, and that's Dennis Allen. Lol Dude just isn't the right HC to lead them there. You need someone like arrogant Payton was to take them there because he demands excellence from his players. But they got good, seasoned experienced talent at mostly all of the key positions. Just drafted a top OT that should start immediately, and Cam Jordan should or hopefully rub off on a Chase Young with his work ethics. But can Carr finely step up and be a SB type of QB?? I mean this new OC should make things a lot easier for him on offense, and there are weapons all over the offense in Kamara, Shaheed, Olave, and other receivers and TE talent too.

Haener is a perpetual back up. Period.

The Saints better hope that Rattler can develop into a starter and more than just a back up.

If this doesn’t happen… you can look forward to Spending at least Two (2) First Round and a Second round pick to trade up for a quarterback in the draft at some point. No one wants to spend that much capital.

You need those high draft picks for other spots on your depleted roster …OT, DT, etc

No other running back on the roster, other that Kamara, has shown me the ability to get tough yards, speed to the corner and catch effortlessly.

As far as I’m concerned… I’ve only seen 1 quality back on the roster so far.

Don't see it quite the same.
Oline. Only two starters returning and was among the worst in nfl.
Dline. Granderson is back but is Cam done? Unit among the worst at sacks and qb pressure.
New OC. Will his schemes work and how many games will it take.
Oh and the wet toast HC.

10-7 to me is the ceiling and 6-11 the floor.

I don't think it's impossible however to exceed 10 wins as magical seasons do happen now and then.

Maybe you're right, I guess I'm just being optimistic. But they do have talent there that can get them to the playoffs at least.

Kendre is going to be good for us I think. His knock pre draft was that he didn't get used in passing game. He has shown good ability to catch with us. He said in a early interview that he had heard about all that but he could always catch just wasn't asked. Let's hope for good health in his second season.

if they are rebuilding, they def don't need to draft a RB that high.
