This is what they fail to recognize. They constantly complain that Trump turns people off, but they conveniently ignore all the people that are only politically active because of Trump. There are many, many people that had given up on supporting either party, because they both screwed us. Others were never really paying attention until Trump's unique style caused a stir.
But you're not supposed to look at that. Just believe them when they say everyone hates Trump because he doesn't act presidential.

That'll be put to the test if Trump loses again. If he loses again and they're not a cult, they'll tell him to never show his face in GOP politics again, and give him the same treatment as other Republicans who have lost General Elections. If they are a cult, they'll continue to embrace him and/or people like him.

Quite a few Republicans could. There were between 5-6 million people who voted for at least 1 down-ballot Republican in a contested race but didn't vote for Trump. Trump underperformed down-ballot Republicans in nearly every single suburban county. The same thing happened in 2016.
