That dude loves the game and I miss that type of energy on our team. Our guys just loaf around and pout when things don’t go their way.

What did we learn today? Offense is king.

Once we resign BI you will feel better with his passionate personality

And he played hurt. Should not have been in that game but he gutted it out.

he’s the only dude from the lakers trade that would ever fit on any kind of championship roster.

Bingo.
Great offense will beat great defense every time

That's why Milwaukee was so successful with their trade to get rid of Jrue and get Dame instead.

Ummm, Milwaukee was already falling off before that trade, that’s the only reason they made the deal.

Despite the protest from the 2K crowd, defense wins in the playoffs (when it counts). For sure have to score, but the ability to keep the opponent from scoring will always be the deciding factor. TWolves absolutely locked down Denver in the second half.

Who was out or injured for Denver?

Balance is what wins in the playoffs. You need 5 guys who can compete on both ends at a high level, whether it’s for an individual game or a series, and compliment each other.
Right now on the pelicans I can identify 3 players who can do that and 1 player who has shown definitive potential to do that.
The 3 are: Zion, BI and Herb
The 4th is Trey
If BI actually committed to playing with Zion and realized he could make his moves without the ball instead of a slow-paced 15 dribbles and actually shoot the 3, he’d be an amazing two which would allow for Trey and Herb to fall into 3 and 4 with a big to round it out. Unfortunately, the evidence points to Ingram doing everything but that, which totally neutralizes him with Zion, despite that being the most important thing if they’re playing 38+ minutes a game in the playoffs.

I imagine the Nuggets disagree right about now

If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Don't disagree at all, just making the point to those that think defense is archaic in modern basketball is just silly. To your point of BI not complimenting Zion, I believe that is just a narrative folk like to espouse due to a disappointing end of season, omitting a clunky roster construction, and an ill-conceived offensive system. It also makes great fodder for the fan base to quibble over, deflecting a lot of blame from the grocery makers and bakers.
From the group that gave us the great Sato, for sure, lets take our two elite finishers and give them primary ball-handling duties, what could go wrong? Oh, and lets back them up on defense with a plodding or undersized post presence, for sure that's the ticket. But yeah, let's get more shooters, that'll fix everything. Newsflash, Pels had 3 40% shooters on the floor against OKC.
Basketball is a simple but beautiful game, defend, pass, and shoot. Absolutely no reason for Zion and BI not getting you an easy 50 points a night consistently, but no lets flip the script and have them set up our role players for great looks, that'll catch the league off-guard ..... you just can't make this shite up.

I agree with you about what we’re lacking from a creation aspect. I think fundamentally, the whole offense needs to be revamped.

For sure, what should have happened is when Pels traded Jrue and let Zo walk a replacement should have been lined up. Kira was not ready, so Pels acquiesced to Zion and BI and installed them as primary facilitators, on the cheap. Pels lost 8 points from Zion/BI, added 4 more turnovers, and gained an additional 2 assists. Additionally Pels made scoring more difficult for them as defense had an opportunity to get set resulting in multiple fumbles during crunch time.
Adults should have set BI and Zion down and defined their roles as primary scorers/playmakers and secondary facilitators with CJ slotted as scorer off the bench. Both Zion and BI are willing passers, but they werent hired to be Chris Paul.
